Old stumps are eyesores, tripping hazards, and pest magnets. We grind them below grade — any size, any access, any property — and leave your yard ready to use. Free estimates, up-front pricing, and complete cleanup included.
Whether you had a tree removed years ago or just last week, a leftover stump is one more thing to mow around, trip over, or explain to guests. We bring the right equipment to grind it below grade — completely, cleanly, and without wrecking the rest of your lawn.
One visit, one crew, no leftovers. Here's how a typical stump grinding job goes start to finish.
We look at the stump size, root spread, access, and any underground utilities before we quote — so you get an accurate price up front.
We bring the right grinder for the job — from compact machines for tight yards to heavy-duty units for massive trunks.
We go deep enough that you can sod, seed, or landscape right over the spot. No visible mound, no regrowth.
We rake out the wood chips and haul them away, or spread them as mulch in your landscape beds. Your preference.
The area is left level and clean — ready for seed, sod, a new planting, or just a flat patch of yard again.
Booking a tree removal? We can grind the stump in the same visit. Or call us just for the stump — no minimum.
Most homeowners are surprised by all the reasons to get rid of a stump. It's not just about looks:
We assess the stump size, root spread, and access, then give you a written, up-front price — usually by the next business day.
Our grinder chews the stump and roots 6" or more below grade. Most residential stumps are done in under an hour.
Chips raked and hauled away (or spread as mulch). The area is left level and ready for seed, sod, or new landscaping.
If you're already having a tree removed, adding stump grinding in the same visit is the most efficient — and usually most cost-effective — way to handle it. One mobilization, one crew, one invoice, and your yard is fully cleared from top to ground in a single day.
Book Both at OncePrice depends on the stump's diameter, the root spread, soil conditions, and how easy it is to access. We give free, written estimates up front so you know the full price before we start. There are no surprise charges.
We typically grind 6 inches or more below grade — deep enough for sod, seed, or new plantings to go right over the spot. If you have a specific depth in mind (for a patio or build, for example), just let us know when you book.
We grind the stump and the major surface roots down below grade. The fine feeder roots deeper in the soil will decompose naturally over time. For most lawns, this is more than enough — the area looks and functions like the stump was never there.
Your choice. We can rake them up and haul them away, or spread them in your garden beds as mulch. Either way, the area is left clean and level when we're done.
Yes — we have compact equipment sized for tight access, narrow gates, and difficult terrain. If we can walk to it, we can typically grind it. We'll assess access when we come out for the estimate.
Absolutely. We do stump-only jobs all the time — no tree removal required. Whether you had the tree taken down by someone else or the stump is years old, we'll handle it as a standalone job.
